Jornada 'Buenas prácticas en actuaciones de conservación, mantenimiento y mejora de cauces en tramos urbanos' del Gobierno de La Rioja en el ámbito Ebro Resilience

The Government of La Rioja has presented the call for grants for actions to adapt to flood risk within the Ebro Resilience Strategy.

It has done so with representatives of 18 riverside municipalities in the conference “Good practices in conservation, maintenance and improvement of watercourses in urban sections”.

Held on June 4 in the Board Room of the Regional Ministry in Pradoviejo, it was attended by the general director of Environmental Quality, Climate Change and Water, José María Infante, who explained that the objective of this conference was “to accompany local entities and clarify possible doubts about the regulations related to the maintenance of watercourses and adaptation measures, the technical, environmental and financial criteria to have the greatest legal certainty about the aid available to them”.

In addition, he detailed the importance of the conference to publicize the financial opportunities offered by the Ebro Resilience Strategy to the municipalities of La Rioja in the middle stretch of the Ebro basin for them to undertake actions to adapt to the risk of flooding in buildings, equipment and facilities or agricultural holdings.

Second call for applications

The Government of La Rioja is keeping open until June 16 a second call for aid to minimize the effects of water floods on the safety of people, property and economic activities, which has a budget of 1,015,244 euros, financed through European funds Next Generation and within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The territorial scope of this aid is limited to the 18 riparian municipalities of the Ebro axis and the Cidacos and Alhama rivers in La Rioja, which are part of the Ebro Resilience Strategy: Logroño, Agoncillo, Arrúbal, Alcanadre, Pradejón, Calahorra, Aldeanueva de Ebro, Rincón de Soto, Alfaro, Enciso, Arnedillo, Santa Eulalia Bajera, Herce, Arnedo, Quel, Autol, Aguilar del Río Alhama and Cervera del Río Alhama.

Applications can be submitted through the virtual office on the website of the Government of La Rioja: https://www.larioja.org/medio-ambiente/es/agua/estrategia-ebro-resilience.

The Ebro Resilience Strategy Strategy establishes a framework for collaboration between the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITERD), the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation and the Governments of La Rioja, Navarra and Aragón, as well as other stakeholders, to work in solidarity and coordination in the management of flood risk in the middle stretch of the Ebro, forming a subprogram of the Flood Risk Management Plan (PGRI) of the Ebro Hydrographic Demarcation.
