The Strategy organized a public session in the Cosistorio alfareño to report on the status of the actions and to know the perception of the inhabitants of the section regarding the works and the risk of flooding.
On October 30, the Strategy is organizing a session for the presentation of results to analyze, together with the riparian population, the effect of the interventions implemented and to know which ones are missing to complete the so-called combined actions section, a set of actions that offer a global benefit against flood risk.
The European Union has shown its interest in the actions for the reduction of flood risk in the middle stretch of the Ebro, with significant progress in the planned work and this was conveyed by the representative of CINEA, Federico de Filippi, who attended the coordination and monitoring meetings and, together with institutional representatives, visited the intervention areas of the Project.
On Saturday, October 4, we will walk through the Ebro copses between Castejón (Navarra) and Alfaro (La Rioja) and on Saturday, October 18, we will walk through the meander of Aguilar, in Fuentes de Ebro, where we will be able to see the works in progress for the adaptation to flooding in this area.
The riparian population and stakeholders are key in the development of LIFE Ebro Resilience actions and this has been fulfilled in the intervention of reopening and reconnection of river branches in this Riojan forest that we have visited, once the work has been completed, with the protagonists of this process.
