LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 is one of the projects presented as a case study in the water bioengineering block in this Congress held in Vall de Núria (Girona).
On October 30, the Strategy is organizing a session for the presentation of results to analyze, together with the riparian population, the effect of the interventions implemented and to know which ones are missing to complete the so-called combined actions section, a set of actions that offer a global benefit against flood risk.
The exhibition Cuando el río recupera su espacio (When the river recovers its space) opened this month at the Centro Público de Educación de Personas Adultas of the town and a guided tour has been organized for its students and an interpretative route through the Meandro de Aguilar, open to the entire population.
The European Union has shown its interest in the actions for the reduction of flood risk in the middle stretch of the Ebro, with significant progress in the planned work and this was conveyed by the representative of CINEA, Federico de Filippi, who attended the coordination and monitoring meetings and, together with institutional representatives, visited the intervention areas of the Project.
Through PHASE 1 of the adaptation to flood risk of an agricultural area of the LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 project, which has eliminated the narrowing of the river in the Mejana del Conde and the Meandro de Aguilar.
During the month of October, the LIFE project and the Ebro Resilience Strategy, as a reference in flood management, will be present at the event organized by the European Executive Agency for Climate, Infrastructure and Environment (CINEA) and at the European Week of Regions and Cities
On Saturday, October 4, we will walk through the Ebro copses between Castejón (Navarra) and Alfaro (La Rioja) and on Saturday, October 18, we will walk through the meander of Aguilar, in Fuentes de Ebro, where we will be able to see the works in progress for the adaptation to flooding in this area.
One of the action lines of the LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project is social capacity building: increasing shared knowledge on rivers and floods, fostering networking among the riparian population, facilitating common tools to be more resilient, having a reference glossary to use the same terms and understand them, is a step in that direction.
The Interpretation Center 'Los Sotos de Alfaro y sus Cigüeñas' hosts this photographic exhibition linked to the LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project and focuses on adaptation to floods through nature-based solutions and can be visited free of charge until September 21.
