The LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project opens new spaces for the exchange of knowledge and to generate learning. The Local Entities Forums are conceived as a set of actions to strengthen the capacities of local authorities (mayors, technical staff, secretariat, etc.) within the scope of the LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project and neighboring areas, on legal, technical and competence aspects related to the management of the public water domain and flood risk management in general.
The forums bring together technicians, administrative profiles and municipal representatives to discuss flood management in greater depth.
Sessions are held in each of the two intervention areas to deal with issues such as the description of the actions carried out or planned to reduce flood risks in the middle stretch of the Ebro, the communication and inter-administrative coordination systems in flood episodes, or the type of actions that can be carried out within the riverbeds and their surrounding areas, the procedures necessary for their execution and the distribution of competences in riverbed management, among others.
It will also include a visit to the interventions carried out or underway in each of the sections and an interpretive descent by boat to learn more about the Ebro River from the inside.
The first meeting in zone 1 was held in the Museum of Castejón (Navarra) on November 14 with the attendance of municipal representatives from Castejón, Mendavia, Calahorra and Agoncillo.
In zone 2 of the Project, between Osera de Ebro and Fuentes de Ebro (Zaragoza), the first session was held on November 19 at the Town Hall of Fuentes with the attendance of representatives from Gallur, Pradilla, Boquiñeni, Utebo, Zaragoza, Alfajarín, Fuentes de Ebro, Pina de Ebro, Quinto and La Zaida.
The technical team of the LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project, formed by the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation, the Government of La Rioja, Orekan – Environmental Management of Navarra, the Aragonese Water Institute, the Government of Aragon, TRAGSA and Tragsatec, will participate in this forum.
