The LIFE IP RBMP Duero and LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 projects are projects of the LIFE Program of the European Union, with common points that promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge. This was made clear at the conference organized by the former on March 25 and 26, to which Resilience technical teams were invited to learn about different actions in Arévalo, Papatrigo and Barco de Ávila, in the province of Ávila, and within the Duero Demarcation.
This networking action has made it possible to analyze river restoration solutions to improve the conservation of river habitats and species.
The meeting began with a session to analyze the projects, their objectives, actions and implementation difficulties. It was held at the Don Álvaro de Luna Mill in Azagra, headquarters of LIFE IP Duero after its restoration, with the participation of the technical teams of both.
The rest of the days were focused on field sessions, with visits to the restored section of the Zapardiel river; to the intervention area of the Arevalillo river in the town of Papatrigo in Avila to reduce the risk of flooding and to the town of Barco de Avila, where technical interventions aimed at improving biodiversity and ensuring sustainable management of the Tormes river were presented.
The networking actions, integrated in the LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project, aim at exchanging knowledge, experiences, methodologies and good practices with other national and European projects.
