SHORTS PLUS EBRO RESILIENCE KNOWLEDGE
The security perimeters of riparian municipalities
Are we really protected against floods? The answer is never absolute: there is no such thing as total protection. But today we have tools and strategies that make us much better prepared.
In the +Conocimiento Ebro Resilience/ Divulga Ebro Resilience video series we show how security perimeters work: 🚧 Infrastructures such as roads, highways and agricultural tracks that are reinforced and become protection cordons.
Your participation is important
In the +Conocimiento Ebro Resilience/ Divulga Ebro Resilience video series, we talk about participation.
Real and effective participation. One of the pillars of the project and one of the key actions. If you live in the riverside you can also get involved and be part of it.
More space for the river
In the video series +Conocimiento Ebro Resilience/ Divulga Ebro Resilience, we talk about recovering space for the Ebro. Wherever possible, the elimination of protections that constrained sections of the river, or its removal from the riverbed, allows recovering space, recovering floodplain.
Flood risk
In the series of videos +Knowledge Ebro Resilience / Divulga Ebro Resilience, we clarify the concept of flood risk. Unfortunately, tragic flood events, such as the DANA suffered in October 2024, have left us with a legacy of sensitivity towards the knowledge of everything related to extreme phenomena that must remain in order to prevent them from happening again.
Rivers move, like you
In the video series +Conocimiento Ebro Resilience/ Divulga Ebro Resilience, we talk about the Ebro as a living river. All rivers move, change, create new meanders. But in the middle stretch of the Ebro… the construction of longitudinal protections originated a channeling of areas of the river constricting this natural evolution, which causes that during flood episodes the river tries to recover its space. The line of work: to recover where and when possible this fluvial space, the fluvial dynamics.
Nature sets the pace: nests of sapper planes
The series of videos + Knowledge Ebro Resilience / Divulga Ebro Resilience, takes us today to talk about how we work in areas with protection, or when the life that inhabits the rivers sets the pace.
We tell you the story of when one morning we found the sapper plane nests right in the section of defense that was being removed. Come in and find out how we did it. How to adapt is the Ebro Resilience philosophy.
Riverineños, that’s how we are
The video series + Knowledge Ebro Resilience / Divulga Ebro Resilience, takes us to talk about us, the riparian women and men of the middle stretch of the Ebro.
Along 325 kilometers of river in La Rioja, Navarra and Aragón, we live in a territory whose common denominator is the river, integrated in our culture and key to the great wealth of the Ebro Valley. But it is also a stretch recognized as having a high probability of flooding and that is the origin of Ebro Resilience and its actions.
To adapt or not? That is the question in the face of floods
The video series + Knowledge Ebro Resilience/ Divulga Ebro Resilience, takes us to learn more about rivers and adaptation to flood risk. flood risk in the middle stretch of the Ebro and generally in any river basin.
In this video we discuss our exposure to floods, but above all, we talk about solutions and proposals to reduce this vulnerability.
Inspiring Nature
The video series + Knowledge Ebro Resilience/ Divulga Ebro Resilience, takes us to learn more about rivers and adaptation to flood risk. flood risk in the middle stretch of the Ebro and generally in any river basin.
In this video we talk about Nature-based solutions – how can we draw inspiration from natural adaptation?
