The LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project is developing new outreach and knowledge-transfer tools for the upcoming academic year that will help the public understand how the flood risk adaptation measures implemented in the middle section of the Ebro River work.<\/p>

The first is the development of MiraEbro<\/strong>, a mobile app designed to engage local residents and visitors in monitoring the work carried out. The initiative will involve the installation of nine information kiosks distributed throughout the project\u2019s main restored areas: the La Roza Meander and the Soto de Alfaro (Alfaro, La Rioja), the El Se\u00f1or\u00edo Meander (Castej\u00f3n, Navarre), and the Mejana del Conde and the Aguilar Meander (Osera de Ebro-Fuentes de Ebro, Zaragoza). <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The posts will be installed this year<\/strong>, and they will indicate the locations for the photographs.<\/p>

Through these access points, the app will allow users to view information about the initiatives and encourage citizen participation in monitoring their progress. Alongside this initiative, LIFE Ebro Resilience is also finalizing its first virtual tour<\/strong>, which will allow visitors to explore the completed projects from anywhere: the morphological adaptation and environmental restoration of the La Roza Meander and the reopening of secondary channels in Soto de Alfaro. The experience will combine bird\u2019s-eye-view aerial imagery with tours from various points of interest on the ground, offering a comprehensive view of the projects and their integration into the river landscape. <\/p>

The experience will include multimedia content to help visitors understand the nature-based solutions implemented in these areas. Visitors will be able to discover how the reopening of old secondary channels restores space to the river during floods and improves hydraulic connectivity, how relief channels work to promote more natural flood management, and how the plantings have been designed to follow the natural dynamics of riparian forests. <\/p>

With these new tools, the project aims to facilitate access to technical knowledge from the project\u2019s launch in 2021 and to help the public understand how these initiatives work\u2014initiatives that combine flood risk reduction with the restoration of river dynamics and ecosystems associated with the Ebro River.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project<\/strong><\/p>


The LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project, which receives financial support from the European Commission\u2019s LIFE Program, is an innovative initiative to address the issue of flooding in the middle reaches of the Ebro River, with a clear objective: to ensure that the population and economic activities coexist with an Ebro River in a good state of conservation, while reducing the damage associated with floods that are part of the river\u2019s natural dynamics.<\/p>

The project is led by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), through the Ebro River Basin Authority (CHE), in collaboration with the public companies TRAGSA and TRAGSATEC, the Government of La Rioja, the Government of Navarre\u2014through Orekan-Gesti\u00f3n Ambiental de Navarra\u2014the Government of Aragon, and the Aragonese Water Institute.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
