{"id":11728,"date":"2024-06-21T12:43:11","date_gmt":"2024-06-21T10:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/4-6-million-euros-for-the-ebro-resilience-strategy\/"},"modified":"2024-06-21T12:47:03","modified_gmt":"2024-06-21T10:47:03","slug":"4-6-million-euros-for-the-ebro-resilience-strategy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/en\/4-6-million-euros-for-the-ebro-resilience-strategy\/","title":{"rendered":"4.6 million euros for the Ebro Resilience Strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>River restoration projects approved for sections 7 Alcal\u00e1 de Ebro, Remolinos and Luceni and 9 Torres de Berrell\u00e9n and Sobradiel.<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boa.aragon.es\/#\/resultados-fecha?from=busquedaCalendarioHome\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Official Gazette of Aragon<\/strong><\/a> has announced the approval of the projects of &#8220;River restoration and habitat improvement in sections <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/en\/avance-del-proyecto\/estudios_detalle\/ebro-in-alcala-de-ebro-and-remolinos\/\"><strong>7 Alcal\u00e1 de Ebro, Remolinos y Luceni<\/strong><\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/en\/avance-del-proyecto\/estudios_detalle\/ebro-in-torres-de-berrellen-and-sobradiel\/\"><strong>9 Torres de Berrell\u00e9n and Sobradiel<\/strong><\/a>as part of the <strong>Ebro Resilience Strategy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The process continues after the <strong>round of meetings open<\/strong> <strong>to the public<\/strong> organized last April by the <strong>Government of Aragon<\/strong>, through the Aragonese Water Institute. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aragon.es\/-\/instituto-aragones-del-agua\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Aragonese Water Institute<\/strong><\/a> (IAA) to present both <strong>projects <\/strong>in the town councils of Torres de Berrell\u00e9n, Sobradiel, Remolinos and Alcal\u00e1 de Ebro.<\/p>\n\n<p>In section <strong>7 Alcal\u00e1 de Ebro-Remolinos-Luceni,<\/strong> with a budget of <strong>1.8 million euros<\/strong>, three existing defenses will be removed, safety perimeters will be improved and measures will be implemented to improve riverbank vegetation in an <strong>11-kilometer<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/torres-de-berrellen-sobradiel-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1849\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/torres-de-berrellen-sobradiel-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/torres-de-berrellen-sobradiel-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/torres-de-berrellen-sobradiel-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/torres-de-berrellen-sobradiel-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/torres-de-berrellen-sobradiel-2048x1366.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/torres-de-berrellen-sobradiel-219x146.jpg 219w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/torres-de-berrellen-sobradiel-50x33.jpg 50w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/torres-de-berrellen-sobradiel-112x75.jpg 112w\" sizes=\"(max-width:767px) 480px, (max-width:1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>On the other hand, in section <strong>9 Torres de Berrell\u00e9n-Sobradiel<\/strong>, with a budget of <strong>2.8 million euros<\/strong>, defenses will be removed in two sections of the right bank of the Ebro, a ditch will be buried and the safety perimeters in urban areas will be improved, in addition to improvements in the riverside vegetation.<\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>Ebro Resilience Strategy<\/strong> seeks to be a framework for collaboration between different administrations and other stakeholders to manage flood risk in the middle stretch of the Ebro River in a supportive and coordinated manner. This strategy includes the study of <strong>260 kilometers of the river<\/strong>, divided into sections, in order to evaluate the protection of urban areas against floods with a return period of 25 years or less, and to analyze possible damage in non-urban areas for floods with a return period of 10 years.<\/p>\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miteco.gob.es\/es.html\"><strong>Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge<\/strong><\/a>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chebro.es\/\"><strong>Hydrographic Confederation of the Ebro<\/strong><\/a> and the <strong>Autonomous Communities<\/strong> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aragon.es\/-\/instituto-aragones-del-agua\"><strong>Arag\u00f3n<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/web.larioja.org\/\"><strong>La Rioja<\/strong><\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.navarra.es\/es\/inicio\"><strong>Navarra<\/strong><\/a> participate in this strategy and collaborate in the implementation of the selected measures.<\/p>\n\n<p>The approved projects seek not only to restore and protect the river environment, but also to foster the resilience and sustainability of riparian communities.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"108\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/logos-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/logos-2.png 850w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/logos-2-300x38.png 300w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/logos-2-768x98.png 768w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/logos-2-260x33.png 260w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/logos-2-50x6.png 50w, https:\/\/www.ebroresilience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/logos-2-150x19.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width:767px) 480px, (max-width:850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/figure>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>River restoration projects approved for sections 7 Alcal\u00e1 de Ebro, Remolinos and Luceni and 9 Torres de Berrell\u00e9n and Sobradiel.
